Introduction

Due to the worldwide Coronavirus (COVID-19) Pandemic, the Combat Athletics Academy/MBT Fitness (CAA/MBT) have produced guidance for reopening.

Before returning to the CAA/MBT all Students/Members will be required to read and sign our new Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s). These SOP’s will contain information for your wellbeing and the wellbeing of other Students/Members and families. These SOP’s have been produced in an accordance with advice and guidance from the UK Government and Public Heath England and will contain:

• Par-Q’s
• Policies and Procedures

You will need to read and sign these policies and procedures and confirm you understand before returning a signed copy back to the CAA/MBT

CAA/MBT will enforce all Policies and Procedures and any Students/Members found breaking any of the Policies and Procedures will be asked to leave the premises with immediate effect.

Par-Q’s

All Students/Members of the CAA/MBT will be required to complete a new Par-Q. Which will enable us to assess the individual Student/Members health and ability to resume sessions at the CAA/MBT.

Policies and Procedures 

1. Health

  • To prevent the transmission of COVID 19 or other infectious illness (i.e. influenza) between Students/Members of the CAA/MBT we have implemented new academy Policies and Procedures, which ALL Students/Members must follow.

  • Any Students/Members with a new, persistent cough or fever must not come into the CAA/MBT and must inform CAA/MBT staff of your illness, call 07883322661/07725626314

  • Any Students/Members who lives in the same household as someone who has a new, persistent cough or fever (37.8 degrees in adults or 38 degrees in children) must not come in to the CAA/MBT and must inform CAA/MBT staff of your situation on 07883322661/07725626314

  • Any Students/Members who develops any signs or symptoms must self-isolate for a minimum of 7 days, and NOT come to the CAA/MBT

  • Any Students/Members with a family member who develops any signs or symptoms must self-isolate for a minimum of 14 days, and NOT come to the CAA/MBT

2. Traveling to the Combat Athletics Academy/MBT Fitness

  • Students/Members are to make their own way to the CAA/MBT unless essential and/or other Students/Members live in the same household to reduce lift sharing.

  • Where lift sharing cannot be avoided, the number of people in the same vehicle must be kept to the absolute minimum.

  • Any Students/Members lift sharing must remain the same – do not change lift sharing groups under any circumstances.

  • Where lift sharing is unavoidable, the vehicle must be well ventilated throughout the journey by having the windows down

  • All Students/Members lift sharing must site as far away from each other as possible.

  • All Students/Members lift sharing must face away from each other – passengers to face out of the window to allow driver to drive safely

  • Students/Members to avoid using public transport unless no other mode of travel is available.

3. Arriving at the Combat Athletics Academy/MBT Fitness

  • All Students/Members are to arrive at the CAA/MBT freshly showered wearing clean cloths

  • Students/Members will NOT be allowed to arrive at the CAA/MBT straight from work.

  • Students/Members to thoroughly wash their hands for at least 20 seconds immediately upon arrival on site in accordance with NHS guidelines

  • The CAA/MBT staff will provide hand washing stations at the gym entrances and around the facility (soap and water is preferable; however, 60% alcohol hand sanitiser is acceptable where soap and water is not practical) – Students/Members must use these facilities upon arrival as noted above

  • The CAA/MBT staff are to prohibit all non-essential visitors

  • The CAA/MBT staff are to monitor access points to enable social distancing

  • The CAA/MBT staff will take and record student/members temperatures (via non - contact infrared forehead thermometer) on arrival at the CAA/MBT

  • The CAA/MBT with record ALL temperatures

  • Any student/member with a temperature above 37.8 will be asked to leave

  • The CAA/MBT staff are to ensure that anyone waiting to enter the CAA/MBT has sufficient space to queue at least 2m apart

  • The CAA/MBT staff are to use signs and/or marking tape to mark out 2m distance at entrance to site and other areas where Students/Members may need to queue or congregate

  • The CAA/MBT staff are to use signs to remind Students/Members not to attend the CAA/MBT if they or anyone they live with have any symptoms of COVID 19

  • The CAA/MBT staff are to regularly clean common contact surfaces in training area, changing rooms, toilets, and access points

  • The CAA/MBT staff will reduce the number of people in attendance during any classes/sessions

  • Students/Members will maintain a gap of at least 2m between each other unless essential for a specific training task – any such close contact shall be limited to the absolute minimum needed to complete the task

  • Students/Members shall not shake hands or make other physical contact with each other or with other trades

  • Students/Members must not pass each other food, or drink

4. During training

  • Any Students/Members who develops a new, dry cough or fever must not come into the CAA/MBT and must inform CAA/MBT staff immediately and leave the CAA/MBT immediately to return home. They must not share any vehicle with another person or use public transport in returning home

  • CAA/MBT staff are to thoroughly disinfect the CAA/MBT throughout the day using gloves, disinfectant spray and a clean cloth – as a minimum cleaning all door handles, desks, surfaces, drawer handlers, inside of windows, sinks, cups, cutlery, and shelves

  • Students/Members within the CAA/MBT shall always remain no less than 2m apart

  • Any person leaving the CAA/MBT shall thoroughly wash their hands for at least 20 seconds or sanitise

  • Anyone who coughs or sneezes should do so into a tissue that they immediately put in the bin – if no tissue is available, they should cough or sneeze into the crook of their elbow

  • Where it is essential that Students/Members lift share to the CAA/MBT, we will, where possible, keep all persons sharing a vehicle in the same team at the CAA/MBT. This will mean that anyone lift sharing will, so far as is possible, train in the same team, will keep away from all others at the CAA/MBT. Note that Students/Members who lift share must still obey the 2m rule and keep at least 2m apart when at the CAA/MBT

  • Non-essential physical training that requires close proximity or contact is prohibited

  • Students/Members will always maintain a gap of at least 2m between each other

  • Where training require Students/Members to train in close proximity the task must be reviewed – if it is not essential to the training it must not go ahead.

  • Training that requires close proximity will need a task specific risk assessment and must not proceed unless and until this has been produced

  • Any task specific risk assessment produced for essential close proximity training must limit the task’s duration to as short a time as possible and to a maximum of 15 minutes

  • Training requiring skin to skin contact is strictly prohibited

  • The CAA/MBT staff are to provide additional first aid resource at the CAA/MBT to allow for likely delay in emergency services response times

  • The CAA/MBT staff are to review gym emergency planning and arrangements to consider likely delay in emergency services response times

  • All enclosed spaces (changing rooms, stores, welfare etc.) to be always kept ventilated

  • The CAA/MBT staff are to plan training sessions to avoid overcrowding and minimise the risk of infection – this may include reducing the number of people at the CAA/MBT, and bringing additional welfare facilities etc

  • Students/Members to wash their hands after using any equipment

  • Personal training equipment (pads, gloves) are NOT to be shared with other students/members

  • NO HORSEPLAY – anyone who coughs at another person, who touches them deliberately, or otherwise deliberately breaches these SOP’s will be immediately asked to leave the CAA/MBT – this may result in your permanent removal from the CAA/MBT. NOTE – deliberately coughing on another person is now formally recognised as an assault and may result in your arrest and prosecution.

5. Toilets / Welfare

  • Students/Members MUST thoroughly wash their hands for at least 20 seconds before leaving the toilet in accordance with NHS guidelines

  • Maximum capacity of Students/Members to be calculated by the CAA/MBT staff based on maximum number of people who can enter while remaining 2m apart – this number must be displayed on a sign on the door. The CAA/MBT staff to actively monitor this number and not to permit any more than the maximum capacity inside CAA/MBT at any one time

  • CAA/MBT staff are to use signage and tape to mark out 2m distance gaps inside changing room and outside (for those queuing to enter)

  • Students/Members must only enter the welfare facilities when essential (i.e. to use the toilet, wash hands, pour drinking water etc.)

  • Students/Members are to place their own rubbish in the bin - do not leave rubbish on the tables or worksurfaces in the welfare facilities & keep all sides clear when not in use

  • CAA/MBT staff are to ensure that the welfare facilities are thoroughly cleaned throughout the day

  • Hand washing / cleaning facilities to be provided by the CAA/MBT at the entrance

  • CAA/MBT are to remove all communal cups, – Students/Members to bring and use their own water bottles

  • CAA/MBT to provide enhanced cleaning measures to all drinking water taps

  • CAA/MBT staff are too frequently clean all surfaces that are touched regularly (e.g. door handles, light switches etc.)

  • CAA/MBT to ensure all equipment is cleaned between each use

  • CAA/MBT staff are to implement measures for monitoring compliance

6. Leaving the Combat Athletics Academy/ MBT Fitness

  • Students/Members are to thoroughly wash their hands for at least 20 seconds before leaving CAA/MBT in accordance with NHS guidelines

  • Students/Members are NOT to leave any clothes or training kit in the changing rooms over overnight

  • As above, Students/Members to make their own way home from CAA/MBT unless unavoidable, avoiding use of public transport wherever possible

  • All Students/Members must thoroughly wash their hands for at least 20 seconds immediately upon arriving home in accordance with NHS guidelines – do not touch any family members before doing this

  • It is advised that Students/Members get changed out of their training clothes immediately upon returning home

  • Any water bottles, or similar should be thoroughly washed with hot soapy water before being reused

7. Training Families

  • CAA/MBT staff will where necessary put students/members into small groups off 3 creating training families

  • While in your training families social distancing still applies, unless you are doing a partner pacific drill

  • Once any partner drills are complete students/members are to wash or sanitise their hands

  • Once student/members are part of a training family, they are to remain in that group.

  • Personal training equipment (pad, gloves) are NOT to be shared with other students/members

8. Track and Trace

  • CAA/MBT staff are to keep an attendance log of all students/members

  • CAA/MBT staff are to keep a log of all training families

  • Should someone become ill, this information will be submitted to the appropriate authorities

  • A register of all session will be kept

9. Cleaning

  • CAA/MBT staff are to carry out enhanced cleaning procedures at the CAA/MBT, particularly in communal areas and at touch points including:

    o Taps and washing facilities
    o Toilet flush and seats
    o Door handles and push plates
    o Handrails on staircases and corridors

  • CAA/MBT staff are to increase number rubbish collection and storage points

  • CAA/MBT staff are to ensure that bins are emptied regularly throughout and at the end of each day.

10. Declaration

I confirm that I have read, understood and agree to follow these polices and procedures as well as UK Government's advice.

I will follow the rules set out in these documents and any subsequent versions of them, at all times while at the CAA/MBT.
